Can we go back to the way it was before all this? Before we were locked inside this gridlock trap of modern life? I have tired of working for money to pay the rent and credit cards. All of these things I own, I will have forgotten in a few years. I would gladly give up modern medicine, televsion, my computer and all the soft little amenities the twenty first century offers if only I could return to an ancient era–A time where our only concerns were where we would gather berries and how we would survive winter. Our houses were built out of mud and rocks, and the only things we respected were animals larger than ourselves. In that time, Death came like a thief in the night and we needn’t spend our idle hours and years fearing its Inevitable Arrival. A time before language, when comfortable silences were all that we had to offer, and it’s all we were expected to give.

I don’t want to work anymore, I just want to build fires, to listen to cicadas and to watch the sun rise and set.

Currently listening to this weird, slow bassy pulsing noise somewhere outside. It’s getting faster.
